One of the problems with having your garage floor coated is cleaning it out beforehand. I had to do it and so do you! Here are the Top 10 Questions we get asked about cleaning out the garage.
#1. How do I Organize my Stuff? For a lot of people, the organization of their stuff is the hard part. If you organize it first the going will be easier after that. Put your belongings in piles, boxes, areas, shelves, etc. So, that you can get it where it needs to go once the organization is done. We expect customers to organize their own belongings. We can move a few boxes out when we come to work but we really are not equipped to help with the organization. You can leave things on the walls if they are not too intrusive and are about 18 inches off the floor. As a rule of thumb, a shovel is fine but a bike is not.
#2. What does Integrity Garage Floors expect to find in the garage on installation day? We expect to find a garage that is organized and does not have much left to be moved.
#3. Will Integrity Garage Floors organize and move my stuff? We do not want to organize your belongings. We allow 15 minutes of workers time to help move things out of the garage when we come to install the floor. A few boxes, appliances etc. but, the bulk of the work needs to be done by the homeowner.

#6. Do I need to clean the floor before installation day? No, the floor does not need to be swept and clean. We are going to grind the surface off the concrete and our powerful vacuum cleaner will pick up the excess dirt. Do not power wash your floor before we come!
#7. Will there be any dust from the grinding? Yes, there will be some dust from the grinding process. We will try to minimize this with a very good vacuum cleaner hooked up to our grinder but, completely eliminating it is a very difficult and expensive thing to do. In trying to keep the cost in line for the customer there will be some residual dust.
#8. Is there anyone who can help me clean and organize the garage? 1800 GOTJUNK is a service that has worked for some of our clients. They not only send a truck but you can hire them to help you as well. https://www.1800gotjunk.com
#9. Where do I put my belongings when I take them out of the garage? Big items like appliances usually go in the drive way with a tarp over them. Boxes etc. usually get put in the house or where ever you can find a place to stash them for two days. Some of our clients get a portable storage unit like PODS. https://www.pods.com
#10. How long will my things need to be out of the garage? Two days. Most of our garage floors are completed in one day and we need an additional day for the coating to harden. Then you can have it back, you can drive on it and put your stuff back.
